Way Out There
- A novel by Thomas McGinn (Book 1) |
| |
The spaceship, at last repaired after months
of labor while it lay hidden in a large cavern, began its
countdown. Each of its occupants, fastened to his or her
special bed, asleep by automatic injection as the return
trip to their planet would take months, was not aware that
one was coddled by wrappings, lay asleep by choice, under
a large greasewood bush dotting the immense spread of the
windblown desert.
So begins the adventure of Sean, adopted by Paul and Sue
Devlin as their child. The first of five stories, Sean
amazes himself and his parents, the school board and even
NMSU where he graduates with three doctorate degrees at
age sixteen. His discovery of how to use electromagnetic
waves electrifies the world powers such as Russia and the
United States, exposing him to many adventures in these
early years.
